The recognition of a phenomenon of “draft of the people” is relatively recent.
In Center and West Africa, the populations, since generations, move inside the national borders and from one country to another.
There exists also an old phenomenon called “confiage”, which consists in placing his/her child near a close relation (often a relative), responsible for his education and its training of the life in society.
The draft can thus be included/understood, in this part of the world, like a drift of old practices. Some saw a means there of earning money easily, at the expense of others and in particular of most vulnerable, the children and the women.
